Meet the newest member of the Aussie Grit range; the Wendover Down Jacket. At only 700 grams, incredibly warm and water repellent, it’s the no-excuse-to-get-outdoors must-have this winter.
Named in recognition of Wendover Woods – where our founder Mark Webber trained in all conditions on some of the best known trails for running and mountain biking in the south-east of England – we’re confident the Wendover will keep you motivated when Mother Nature turns the thermostat down.
750 fill power responsibly sourced down
The loose structure of soft down feathers traps air, which helps to insulate against heat loss. Typically rated from 550 to 800+, the higher the fill power number, the fluffier the down. Fluffier down traps more air, resulting in a warmer jacket that is lighter. It also means you can pack it down smaller.
The Wendover uses 750 fill power, responsibly sourced down which means it’s warm, light and compressible. Water repellent DWR on outer shell to keep you dry DWR – or durable water repellency, is a hydrophobic coating that helps water to form beads and roll off the material.
The Wendover Down Jacket also features:
- 90% goose down and 10% feather
- Removable adjustable hood for maximum comfort
- Two-sided seam pockets with soft, brushed fabric lining to keep your hands toasty
- Inner sleeve cuff with thumbhole
- Internal zip chest pocket to keep your valuables safe. The pocket comes with an eyelet for headphones to connect your device
- Hem drawcord with toggles so the heat can’t escape
Don’t just take our word for it…
Spectators, support crew, athletes and commentators took advantage of the warmth of the Wendover in the Blue Mountains at Ultra-Trail Australia this year and reviews have been impressive:
“I’ve had this down jacket since Ultra Trail Australia last month and the quality is incredible. The lining in the pockets is perfect and such a nice surprise when you put your cold hands inside the pocket for the first time! I will have this on all Winter.” - Beck
“I received my down jacket just in time for a recent trip to the Blue Mountains and didn’t take it off the entire trip! I was surprised that a jacket that light could keep me so toasty warm. The shaping at the waist is very flattering!” - Amanda
“After racing the UTA50 in the Blue Mountains I was quick to snuggle up and instantly feel warm in this down jacket. I will be taking my jacket on all of our winter adventures, (including my son’s soccer games)!” – Hayley
“I practically lived in this jacket at UTA 2019, where it kept me nice and toasty. I was impressed with the soft lining inside the pockets which kept hands warm when the temps dropped, and the inner sleeve was a pleasant surprise which also helped keep the cold air out. It also handled the light rain showers from time to time really well, overall very happy with the performance.” – Lee
